Ken Davis has followed in his father’s footsteps. He started out as a labourer within the business before moving to Sydney where he worked on many varied projects including the Sydney TAFE University before returning to London where he graduated with a City & Guilds in Carpentry. Ken worked on major projects in Sydney as well as London but it was his desire to come home and work within the family business that brought Ken back to Cork.

Ken has a great appreciation for good architecture both modern and classical. He enjoys the challenges that contemporary architecture presents and enjoys achieving those clean lines and quality finishes by showing simplicity through superb craftsmanship.  In addition his experience also covers a range of historical renovations in London and he is a keen admirer of the Victorian architectural era. He has taken on his father values; good quality workmanship and attention to detail are very much at his core whether the project is old or new.

Ken’s vision for the business is to see Jim Davis & Co continue to thrive and expend. He would like to see the company take on further challenging projects, allowing Jim Davis & Co to continue to shape the future of our city and county.

Jim Davis was the founder and vision of Jim Davis & Co. It was through his clear vision and determination that grew the business to where it is today.

Jim came from humble beginnings; his father was a cobbler and his Great Grandfather a stone mason. Strong quality workmanship and taking pride in their job were values that were established very young. At the age of 25, Jim founded his own business in Cork. Since its inception, Jim Davis and Co has been a major player in shaping, developing, building and renovating many schools, churches, businesses, hotels and houses across the city and county of Cork.

Jim is a man who inspires confidence. His understanding of the business and his diversity and wealth of knowledge within construction has been an inspiration to the company and those who have worked for him and with him. He is a man of honesty and integrity and a father who has established and developed a very reputable business that his sons Ken and Steve are proud to continue. The company still draws on his vast knowledge and experience from time to time and Jim still maintains lasting relationships with many existing clients.
