The company was based on having a hands-on approach to every project eliminating layers of bureaucracy sometimes associated with larger companies. Our first office was in Jim’s converted garage but soon grew too small and so moved to Pine Street. Our new office is located on Mulgrave road in the old stables used for the horse and carts that brought the butter from the exchange to West Cork/Kerry.

Co-Director / Project Manager
Ken Davis has followed in his father’s footsteps. He started out as a labourer within the business before moving to Sydney where he worked on many varied projects including the Sydney TAFE University before returning to London where he graduated with a City & Guilds in Carpentry. Ken worked on major projects in Sydney as well as London but it was his desire to come home and work within the family business that brought Ken back to Cork.

Founder, Retired but Inspired!
Jim Davis was the founder and vision of Jim Davis & Co. It was through his clear vision and determination that grew the business to where it is today.
On behalf of the school, many, many thanks to Jim Davis & Co. for the proficient delivery of your service during the building project in our school. We are indebted to you. It was a pleasure working with you all.
Angela Collins, Principal, St Marys Secondary School, Macroom
On behalf of the HSE, I wish to express my sincerest thanks for the manner in which you completed the works to the Audiology Department, Block 2, St Finbarr’s Hospital. I particularly note the level of communication and attention to detail, paid to the project, by both yourself and Stephen that ultimately led to the successful completion of the project. This project was technically very onerous given that it was a live environment within an occupied floor over. It was a great achievement to maintain services within the building while carrying out significant structural works within the ground floor. Again, many thanks for a job well done and we look forward to working with you again in the future.
Pat Cronin, Maintenance Officer, HSE South, St Finbarr’s Hospital, Cork
I would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend Jim Davis & Co.for serious consideration for the award of any building contract, public sector or otherwise. I have no doubt that the wisdom of any such decision would be fully vindicated in the realisation of cost competitiveness, quality workmanship and overall professionalism.
John Bresnihan, Chairperson, BoM, Gaelscoil Chorain, Youghal
This company was a pleasure to work with. They were reliable, courteous and on time with invoices, reports and deadlines. On all occasions, I and other team members were consulted and a good working relationship was maintained at all times. Their work was thorough, efficient and of a very high standard. I would hope to work with them again in the future and would highly recommend them for future work opportunities.
